Our goal is to reach out to the community at large by addressing local social issues and the needs of individuals and families in the surrounding Sorrento, FL area. Our immediate focus is a surplus food outreach program to those who need assistance. We are planning for a youth program and a church family based upon the home group setting. We hope to work with area business leaders, civic leaders, churches, families, and the East Lake Chamber of Commerce in implementing these programs.
We are incorporated as a Not For Profit corporation and as a "food pantry". We want to reach out to the people who are outside the walls of the traditional church, to provide ministry for their individual needs in their local setting.Our funding comes from contributions, fund raisers, and the tithes and offerings of the members. We are not interested in buildings, but in building peoples lives. Therefore , we will strive to provide emotional, physical, emergency financial, and spiritual support to those who request it.

UPDATE: We celebrated our first anniversary at Bread of Life on July 29,1996. The surplus food that we collect is distributed to families and individuals with needs on a weekly basis. We collect about $5,000 retail value of quality food items monthly to deliver directly to the homes. There remains a great need however, for more items and a greater variety. Our goal is to open up a storefront in Sorrento to better serve the needs of the community. Sorrento is located just East of Mount Dora on SR 46. Orlando is our nearest metropolitan area; sitting 25 miles to our southeast. Our trust is, as always, in the Lord Jesus Christ to meet our needs.
