Greater Works, Miracles and Such

Part 2

Hello Saints,

In the last post, I talked about Faith changing spiritual seasons so that you can receive what you believe for.  We looked at the wedding at Cana and saw that if Mary hadn’t spoken with faith, Jesus wouldn’t have intervened.

Now consider the actual changing of water into wine.  It's not like there is anything in water that reminds you of grapes.  Scientists will tell you they have totally different scientific formulas.   It wasn't like putting a little yogurt culture into a vat and waiting for it to all turn to yogurt.   Grape scented water would never qualify for the best wine.   The Bible is clear that only water was put into the jugs.  How then could it become wine?

As we look at this, we can’t simply say that Jesus was God and of course He can do whatever He wants.  If that were the answer, then only He could perform miracles and we are still dealing with John 14:12.

John
14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

If we are to understand this, we can't just place it all on Jesus and I don’t know about you, but if I am going to move into the fulfillment of this scripture, my thought processes have to have more than just faith to explain it.  Faith to me is like speaking in tongues.  My spirit embraces it but my natural mind can’t seem to wrap itself around it.

I feel like the one who cried,”
Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

Since I am not a super saint, the Holy Ghost has been helping me to understand so that I can move into the deeper things of God.  (John 14:26)

I believe the water changed to wine because they were both created of the same substance, the Word of God.

Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Heb 1:1  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Heb 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Heb 1:3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Scientists used to think the atom was the smallest building block of the universe.  They changed their thinking when they discovered things like electrons and protons, etc.  Now they aren’t sure just what the smallest building block of the universe is.

However the Bible tells us that it is God’s Word.  If everything can be broken down to the lowest common denominator, it's simplest unit is the Word of God.  That means basically everything is made of the same stuff.  So by that Word, as God speaks, water can become wine.  Sick bodies can become healed.

By His Word and faith in His word, things can become what seems impossible.

Let your brain work on that!

Until the next post, be blessed going out and coming in,
Glenna
