Run To The Battle
![]()
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13
The other day in prayer, God reminded me of the time when Daniel was praying and his answer was delayed by the prince of the kingdom of Persia and Michael had to come help Gabriel get through. (Daniel 10:12-13) God told me it is important to rightly divide the Word with understanding. Our situation is not the same as Daniel's because the Holy Spirit could come upon him but we have received Him inside us. Because of that, when he was visited by the Holy Spirit, Daniel would see and understand things. The rest of the time, all Daniel could do was pray and wait.
We aren't like that. The weapons of our warfare are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Our spirit man can go join the battle so that we catch the enemy in a squeeze play between us and the angels.
There is a move of satan in the earth to elevate angels to a place of adoration. This is wrong. They are God's ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14). I have even heard people talking about,"Won't it be great when I die and get my wings?" No, NO, NO! The Bible never told us angels were made in the image of God. They aren't. The angels serving closest to God's throne have six wings. It says with two they cover their face and two cover their feet. That means they wrap those wings around their body and are protected all the way to their feet. With the other two, they fly. (Isaiah 6:1-3) Our God is a consuming fire. He has given them those wings for protection so that they can draw close and minister to Him. But, we don't need wings! We are made in the image of God and through Jesus can draw close to the throne of Grace. We are not an earth-bound people.
Let's spend more time in the Word of God and find out who we really are in Christ and then realize that our prayers can be an active force in the fight against darkness. Instead of just waiting and hoping that God hears us and will eventually send us an answer, let's ask Jesus for His battle strategy and then let's run to the battle.
