My Story

I was raised in a church that believed Jesus Christ was the second person in the Holy Trinity (God as Man). He came to earth and died for our sins. We celebrated Christmas and Easter, went to church each week, etc. As far as I knew, everything was fine.....not too exciting, but ok.  Then one day, I was shopping in my local grocery store and happened to pick up a book called "How to Live Like A King's Kid" by Harold Hill. This man seemed to have found something I didn't have. For him, Jesus was a person who walked through life with him, not just an historical figure or someone in heaven, but a friend. That struck such a note in me that I got down on my knees and cried out to God telling Him I wanted this type of relationship too. I wanted the power this man had in his life. I wanted this relationship. Do you know what happened? Well actually, at that time, it seemed like nothing!  Maybe God didn't want me that way....

About a week later, my husband and I were invited to a home "Bible Study" by a friend of ours.  Actually, we never got around to the Bible study. We sang some songs and prayed. Pretty soon, the leader said God wanted him to pray for some of us. When he got to me, he asked me what I wanted and I told him about this book and the "power" that man had. He told me that man had learned to let the Holy Spirit of God work in his life but you couldn't have that unless you first asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. That was fine with me. I already knew I was a normal person who couldn't live up to being perfect and thus would never be acceptable to God on my own. I asked Jesus to come into my heart, cleanse me from all sin and be my Lord and Savior. You see, God heard and answered that cry for help I sent Him from my livingroom. He was waiting to get things set up so that I could understand what was going on. That was twenty years ago. I can honestly say He has walked each day of my life with me. There have been times I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have his strength to fall back on. There have been times I didn't take time to talk to Him but always, He was there, waiting for me to turn back to Him.

If you are lonely and need a friend who will stand by you, call on Jesus. He is waiting for you and you never know what doors will open in your life when you turn to Him. Then, if you need to talk to someone "with skin on", feel free to email me (below) .
